To promote the development of innovative solutions to the current challenges in education, it is essential to support education leaders to think differently – to do what is right, not what is safe.
Led by YCPD’s Angela Smith with support from Teach First, The Enlightened Education Leadership Network invites authentic school leaders to share ideas, experience and expertise. We challenge educational leadership mindset in a mutually supportive environment.
This network is open to all school leaders and aspiring leaders who are passionate about developing a culture of improvement, balancing the accountability-based model of leadership with a strengths-based approach that allows teachers to excel on their own terms.
We value distributed leadership models for empowered and engaged staff at all levels.
We focus on balancing:
- legal compliance with ethical approaches
- accountability with support & development
- expectations with moral values
The network launches officially in September 2023. We opened for expressions of interest at Teach First’s “Great Ambassador Gathering” in July 2023 at The Totteridge Academy in London. We gathered gathered lots of interest in the network & had some fantastic, thought-provoking conversations with leaders at all levels.
